General Information[]
The Pensacola-class is the first USN heavy cruiser. Pensacola is regarded as a light cruiser by some, as her armor is not able to withstand even its own caliber guns. However, she is regarded as a heavy cruiser due to her main guns having a caliber of 203mm. In game, she will give you what the last tier couldn't give you-damage. However, in return she sacrifices torpedoes as the USN saw that carriers and carrier aviation were the main threat. Even so, her AA is only for "self-defense" and it will not destroy many planes in the Carrier squadrons.
In-Game Information[]
Pensacola was the first of the "treaty cruisers" in the U.S. Navy. With tonnage limited, she sacrificed armor, but retained good armament with 10 203mm main guns, powerful for a cruiser of that period.
